When it returned to our screens at Christmas, Blankety Blank’s festive special was the most-watched entertainment programme across all channels on Christmas Day 2020, with 6.3 million viewers tuning in.

A series was confirmed by the BBC in late-April this year. The first edition of the series aired on BBC One tonight.

We Are Alchemy provided the graphics. Facilities were provided by Lumina and Maidstone Studios.

The original theme music, composed by Ronnie Hazlehurst, has been reworked by Marc Sylvan.
