BBC One lottery results delayed

BBC One was forced to delay news of last night’s National Lottery results until after The Graham Norton Show. The apology was read out over a slide graphic by announcer Kate Walsh (on BBC One network).

Although announcements over a static slide were common on BBC One and BBC Two in the past, the format has rarely been used on either channel during the last ten years.

One curious element here is the use of a BBC One slide template which was thought to have been discontinued.

During the last 12 months, a simpler design – featuring the same red background as that used on now/later graphics and programme promotion endboards, with the programme title overlaid in white text – has been in use.

One exception is The Andrew Marr Show slide seen in recent months on Saturday and Sunday mornings; it’s very much “non-standard”, with no tie-in with BBC One’s current on-air presentation graphics.
