Power failure interrupts BBC Two tennis coverage

Just forty minutes into BBC Two’s coverage of the Eastbourne International tennis tournament on Monday 25th June 2018, the broadcast fell off air.

Screens initially went blank just before 2.40pm.  Seconds later, BBC Two Presentation intervened and put up an apology caption. Music and regular apologies from the announcer filled the next nine minutes, before we rejoined the action on the south coast, with an apology from presenter Clare Balding:

Welcome back to coverage of the Nature Valley International here at Eastbourne. Huge apologies for the break-up in transmission. There are power problems here and that is why pictures suddenly weren’t getting to you on BBC Two. But we can rejoin this match…
