Newsnight closing credits fail to appear

Posted on 4th March 2021 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 26th March 2021 Filed under Bloopers

The closing credits for tonight’s edition of BBC Newsnight failed to appear.

It looked as though a special closing sequence had been prepared, on the back of the programme’s budget coverage.

A graphic was overlaid over a wide shot of the studio – but no credit text appeared. The sequence – including the theme tune – seemed to be re-cued, before moments later, the programme was taken off air, and the weather bulletin started.
