BBC One drops junction between Strictly and The Wheel

Posted on 28th November 2020 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 25th March 2021 Filed under PresWatch

BBC One tonight dropped a prime time junction, between Strictly Come Dancing and the new Michael McIntyre game show, The Wheel.

The channel has been heavily promoting The Wheel in recent weeks.

Skipping a junction in such a prime spot is a very rare event. Although clearly a reaction to the threat posed by ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, it is very unusual for a broadcaster to feel the need to ditch the promotional opportunities on offer in the gap that (usually) sits between programmes.

The early ratings will make interesting reading.
