Having highlighted an odd anomaly with the BBC Wales Today titles last year, it would be remiss of us not to mention that this longstanding wrong has finally been put right.
The programme’s title sequence was updated last year, when BBC News rolled out the BBC Reith font on domestic national and regional news programmes.
Oddly, the designer chose to position the BBC NEWS WALES logo box in a spot which left it out of alignment with the programme title text. The ‘WALES TODAY’ text was also very slightly out of alignment with the BBC logo above it.
Both anomalies have now been fixed. We’re not sure when the change was implemented – but it was not in place for the programme’s first day in its new central Cardiff HQ.
A slightly lighter weight for the ‘WALES’ text wouldn’t go amiss. But, the more obvious flaw has been corrected now at least.
