Which BBC weather forecast do I trust?

Just caught the Weather for the Week Ahead at 1.25am on BBC One. Weather for Northern Ireland looking OK tomorrow. A few minutes later, BBC One joined the BBC News Channel – and did that thing that it often likes to do, having just aired a full weather forecast – and crashes into the weather forecast on the News Channel.

I was just about to switch over, when I spotted that the forecast for Northern Ireland tomorrow was looking a little different to what I’d just been told by Tomasz Schafernaker a few minutes earlier.

Whilst I expect some variations in the forecast between different sources, I was more than a little surprised to see a different take on the weather, on two domestic BBC channels, just minutes apart.

Here’s the view of Northern Ireland for Monday, according to Tomasz Schafernaker at 1.25am:

So, I don’t need my brolly tomorrow then. Or, do I? Here’s Ben Rich’s take on the weather prospects a few minutes later, on the BBC News Channel (simulcast on BBC One):
