BBC One Scotland misses 9pm news report

A playout error resulted in a news report not being broadcast on BBC One Scotland yesterday.

A short, unscheduled News Report was intended to go out live on BBC One last night, just before 9pm. In most parts of the country, the news update – presented by Clive Myrie – followed Holby City.

Viewers in Scotland had their own programme in the 8pm – 9pm slot – River City.

At the end of last night’s River City – which is where we pick up the action – there was a brief Action Line announcement. The announcer then introduced the news update – which never materialised.

Instead, viewers on BBC One Scotland were treated to a portion of Holby City. The announcer/director moved on to the next programme without acknowledging the missing news update.
