Two visits by Mr Cockup this morning on BBC Two

The first issue occurred shortly before 9.30am, during a weather bulletin. BBC Two was simulcasting the BBC News Channel at the time.

As far as we know, the forecast was presented live by Simon King. 35 seconds into the weather segment, the picture froze, but we could still hear Simon. The bulletin was quickly abandoned – a number of programme trails were played. An apology was provided, albeit 30 minutes later, at the start of the next weather update.

In the short junction between the BBC News at Nine and the Victoria Derbyshire show, BBC Two inserts its own junction. This morning, announcer Dean Lydiate inadvertently talked over a golf trail. If nothing else, the error proved the junction voiceover was live.
