9.15am Lower-third changes on the BBC News channel
The BBC News channel has updated the colour scheme for its lower-thirds.
What was previously transparent dark grey is now solid red.
Until now, and for many years, red banners were generally reserved for breaking news.

11.55pm Newswatch returns to its usual studio next week
Regular viewers of Newswatch on the BBC News channel will perhaps have noticed that the programme has been based in a small green screen studio for the last few weeks.
Its usual home – Studio L – has been undergoing maintenance. Newswatch returns there next week.
Also from tonight’s edition of Newswatch: surely the best example yet of “BBC News asked someone from the BBC for comment – but no-one from the BBC was available to talk to BBC News.”

6.30pm Special titles/branding for joint BBC London/BBC East news
With BBC Look East off air this weekend due to engineering work, viewers in East England are receiving BBC London.
As a result, BBC London has been temporarily rebranded “BBC News” for the weekend.
We’re reasonably certain this is the first time this branding has been used on air.
