BBC East Midlands Today moves to new set

BBC East Midlands Today has finally revealed its new look set.

The set – a scaled down version of that used by the national news in Studio B at New Broadcasting House in London – appeared for the first time during the 6.30pm programme this evening.

The Nottingham-based programme decamped to a small, temporary studio at the start of October, to allow construction of the new set to begin in its main studio.

It’s the first of the English regions to use a set modelled on the main BBC One national news programmes.

BBC Midlands Today in Birmingham will be the next programme to implement a new set. BBC Look North (Hull) will shortly move to a temporary set, to allow work to begin on installation of a new set there.
