6.30pm Technical glitch affects BBC News at Six lead story package
An odd glitch affected the lead story about ambulance delays on the BBC News at Six.
Whilst the audio played out fine the visuals were stuck on a frame from later in the package. However, the situation was quickly recovered by the director.
Within seconds we were returned to the studio where the monolith screen was already primed with the graphics for the next story in the running order, about rail fare increases. Presenter Reeta Chakrabarti apologised for the technical issue and quickly moved on to the link for that story.
The report on ambulance delays was played out in full later in the programme.

11.45pm BBC branding inconsistencies just keep coming
If you’re a regular reader of our site/Twitter feed, you’ll be more than familiar with the raft of inconsistencies concerning the rollout of the BBC’s new logo.
The first significant release of the new masterbrand was in October 2021. Over a year later, many new productions still use the 1997 version of the BBC blocks. The EastEnders titles/credits being one of the more high-profile examples.
We’ve singled out two examples from Christmas Day on BBC One – particularly notable, as they include both the 1997 and 2021 version of the BBC blocks.
The first example is the 2022 Christmas special of Mrs Brown’s Boys. Old logo within the opening titles; old and new logo on the endboard.
On Christmas Night started with the old BBC logo and ended with the new one.
