12pm Two BBC One Christmas idents withdrawn following tragic lake incident
Two of the four Christmas BBC One idents have been withdrawn from use following the news that three children died after falling into a lake in Solihull.
The two idents in question feature a lake.
Until further notice, BBC One news programmes will be introduced using one of the lens idents.
The other Christmas idents will remain in use for non-news programming.
Unfortunately, the memo regarding ident usage into news programmes wasn’t acted on in some of the English regions in time for the 1pm national news.
BBC One East Yorkshire used one of the lake idents. BBC One Midlands and BBC One South used the ident featuring a Christmas pudding.
3.20pm BBC One South HD added to Freesat test bouquet
BBC One South HD has been added to the Freesat test bouquet.
The regional versions of Channel 4 HD are also included in the test bouquet. So, there’s a bit of a queue of HD services building up on Freesat, waiting to go live.
Meanwhile, test transmissions of BBC One South HD continue, with BBC South Today available in HD.
