Monday 14th November

2pm Final ident from the ITV Creates project

In spite of a brand update of all ITV broadcast channels going live tomorrow morning, ITV stuck to its weekly rotation of ITV Creates idents in the Monday 1.30pm junction.

And the project ends almost where it started back in January 2019, with idents produced by Sutapa Biswas.

Sutapa’s idents were first broadcast in week 2 of ITV Creates.

9pm Awkward on-air exchange between Guru-Murthy and Rees-Mogg

There was an awkward exchange on Channel 4 News this evening between presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Rees-Mogg referenced an off-air incident in October where Guru-Murthy was heard referring to Tory MP Steve Baker as a “c**t”.

The day after Guru-Murthy’s off-air remarks, Channel 4 issued the following statement:

“Channel 4 has a strict code of conduct for all its employees, including its programming teams and on-air presenters, and takes any breaches seriously. Following an off-air incident Channel 4 News anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been taken off air for a week.”

2pm Politics London introduces updated BBC branding

Politics London returned to Studio D this morning, having decamped to Studio A a few months back.

Another change this morning was the introduction of the new BBC blocks logo to graphics shown on the screens at the back of the set and on the new monolith video towers.

However, the old BBC blocks were still present in the programme’s opening titles.
