Implementation notes
A couple of stations partially jumped the gun with the changes: BBC Radio WM and BBC Radio Northampton had already updated their small profile images on Twitter on Sunday 10th July (we hadn’t checked prior to this date, so can’t confirm exactly when these profiles were updated).
BBC Radio Lincolnshire, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Stoke and BBC Three Counties Radio (or BBC Radio Three Counties as it’s labelled in the station’s online logos) were the first out of the traps to fully implement the new branding on Twitter, prior to 1am on 11th July.
The timeline for the implementation of the new branding across the other stations is as follows:
By 6.30am or slightly earlier: BBC Essex, BBC Radio Shropshire and BBC Radio Solent.
6.50am: BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester.
7.15am: BBC Radio Somerset.
7.30am: BBC Radio Humberside.
7.45am: BBC Radio Suffolk and BBC Radio Sheffield.
8am: BBC Radio Berkshire.
8.05am: BBC Radio Tees.
8.20am: BBC Radio Leicester, BBC Radio Wiltshire, BBC Radio Surrey and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
8.30am: BBC Radio Manchester.
9.10am: BBC Radio CWR, BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Radio Devon.
9.15am: BBC Radio Jersey.
9.20am: BBC Radio Guernsey and BBC Radio York.
9.40am: BBC Radio Oxford and BBC Radio Derby (large profile image still not updated).
9.50am: BBC Radio Sussex (though we believe the branding was updated earlier this morning).
10.10am: BBC Radio Lancashire (large profile image still not updated).
10.25am: BBC Radio WM had already updated its small profile image yesterday. The large profile image has now been updated.
10.30am: BBC Radio Norfolk.
11.50am: BBC Radio Leeds.
12.15pm: BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
1.20pm: BBC Radio Newcastle.
1.55pm: BBC Radio Bristol.
2.30pm: BBC Radio Kent.
3.05pm: BBC Radio Nottingham.
9pm: we checked in on the BBC Radio Merseyside account and noticed that the large profile image has been updated with the new branding but not the small profile image.
11.55pm: the BBC Radio Merseyside small profile image has now been updated with the new branding.
3.15pm (12th July): we checked in on BBC Radio Northampton and they’ve updated their large profile image with the new branding.
And also just to confirm that BBC Radio Derby’s large profile image has also been updated with the new branding. It may well have been updated long before now (we omitted to recheck the account yesterday).
1.30pm (13th July): we observed that BBC Radio Lancashire has updated their large profile image with the new branding.
7.45pm (15th July): the large profile image for BBC Radio Cumbria has been updated with the new branding. However, the image seems to have been subjected to quite a bit of compression prior to being uploaded.
11.45pm (15th July): the small profile image for BBC Radio Cumbria has been updated with the new branding.
