Monday 18th April

2pm C. J. Mahony takes charge of ITV branding for the week

This week, it’s the turn of C. J. Mahony to brand the main ITV channel. Mahony’s ITV Creates idents were first aired back in April 2019.

The first of these repeat airings took place in the 1.45pm junction leading into the ITV Lunchtime News today.

4.20pm BBC News presentation tweaks next Monday

Look out for the implementation of the new BBC blocks logo on BBC News programmes next Monday. The change will be introduced for live news programmes on the BBC News Channel, BBC One (including regional news programmes) and BBC World News.

The on air unveiling of the new look Studio B (NBH) is now more likely to happen in June. There are also expected to be some set adjustments for BBC Wales Today in June.

7.05pm Look North jumps the gun with logo change

You can always bank on at least one English region implementing a presentation-related change prematurely.

Look North (Yorkshire) this evening aired the new version of its (short) titles – featuring the new BBC blocks logo – a week before the updated sequences were due to be launched.

Apologies for the technical glitches with our clip.

Tuesday 19th April

1.30am BBC One announcer references BBC News 24

Fourteen years after BBC News 24 was rebranded as the BBC News Channel, the old channel name gets a mention from the announcer in a late-night BBC One junction:

Tuesday 19th April

10.15pm A reminder about the changes coming tomorrow on BBC News

The new BBC blocks logo will be introduced on BBC News from 9am tomorrow morning. Nothing else of significance is changing though. The Lambie-Nairn title sequence is not going anywhere for the time being.

As mentioned previously, the on-air launch of the new-look Studio B (NBH) looks likely to be June now rather than May. More than a hint of BBC Wales Today about the new set.
