BBC One’s early evening weather bulletin failed to appear – on the HD version of the channel at least.
Instead of the usual live weather forecast, we got a frozen image of presenter Nick Miller. Twenty seconds later, a BBC One breakdown graphic appeared. Announcer Duncan Newmarch apologised for the technical issues, before providing a verbal summary of the weather for tonight and tomorrow.
We then moved on to the next BBC One junction, which played out normally.
Over on the SD version of the channel though, things played out a little differently.
In our example – an off air recording of BBC One London – we started off with the same frozen image of weather presenter Nick Miller that we saw above, on the HD channel.
Eventually, however, the weather bulletin appears – minus sound initially.
When the forecast finishes, presenter Nick Miller is left on screen and seen talking to the director – though his mic had been muted by this point. We then crashed into a trail for Doctor Who. The remainder of the junction played out normally on the SD channel.
Apologies for the picture/audio sync issues in this clip which was caused by a technical issue at our side:
