3pm Intermittent picture/audio glitch affecting RTÉ One on Sky

One of our readers has flagged an intermittent technical glitch that has been affecting RTÉ One on the Sky platform for the last few weeks.

The picture will freeze momentarily and audio will be lost. Colour bars also often appear briefly before normal picture and audio are restored.

Now that we’ve captured evidence of the fault, it has been reported to 2RN for investigation.

Thursday 24th February

11.15am ITV and Channel 4 air special news programmes following Russian invasion of Ukraine

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, some of the main channels are running special news programmes.

ITV is broadcasting extra bulletins at 10am, 11am and 12pm. Channel 4 is planning an hour-long programme beginning at 11.25am.

BBC Two was already scheduled to run a simulcast of the BBC News Channel.

There’s rolling coverage of the Ukrainian crisis on the BBC News Channel, BBC World News and Sky News.

UPDATE: the BBC News at Six and the BBC News at Ten will be extended this evening. BBC One’s 6pm programme will run until 7pm. The One Show will move to BBC Two.

Friday 25th February

9.30am Special ITV and Channel 4 news programmes again this morning

ITV will air special bulletins at 10am, 11am and 12pm again today, covering the crisis in Ukraine. And Channel 4’s first news update of the day will be extended today also – it begins at 11.25am.

9pm ITV confirms extra news programmes on Saturday and Sunday morning

ITV has announced that it will provide a two-and-a-half hour news programme tomorrow morning and on Sunday morning, starting at 7am, replacing the planned schedule of children’s programmes. The programmes will provide live coverage of the Ukrainian crisis.

ITV would normally have a five-minute news programme at 9.25am on Saturday but no update until lunchtime on Sunday.

10.30pm BBC News at Ten anchored from London due to rapidly deteriorating situation in Kyiv

BBC presenters and correspondents in Kyiv have been forced to shelter in a basement as the situation in the city has become too dangerous to broadcast outside. The BBC News at Ten is being anchored by Jane Hill from London – rather than by Clive Myrie in Kyiv, as originally planned.
