The Late Late Toy Show was preceded by the first appearance of RTÉ One’s Christmas on-screen presentation.

Just prior to the 9.35pm RTÉ One junction, the RTÉ News: Nine o’Clock ended with a recording of the switching on of the Christmas lights at the RTÉ campus, which took place earlier in the evening.
