ITV branding on UTV weather

An interesting example of ITV branding by stealth appeared on UTV tonight.  ITV is running a campaign along with VISA which features its regional weather presenters during the ad break before Emmerdale on Fridays.

Tonight UTV weatherman Frank Mitchell popped up surrounded by ITV branding.  Clearly no effort was made in this campaign to change the branding for Northern Ireland.

While networked ITV branding has crept in, this is the first time I’ve seen ITV branding on something made for transmission solely on UTV.

Ordinarily, the local weather forecast would be branded ‘UTV Weather’.  Here are some examples of the branding/graphics from a recent weather forecast.
