BBC News is expected to confirm later that it plans to allocate an extra 25 minutes to live news programming on Sunday evening on its TV news channel.
Currently, the Sunday 10.30pm – 11pm slot features prerecorded content.
From this weekend, there’ll be just under an hour of live news coverage from 10pm. This is already the case on Saturdays.
