Tuesday 21st January

12.25pm The Context to have regular slot discussing Trump’s second term

BBC News is to dedicate a regular one-hour slot to discussion of Trump’s second term, within The Context.

The segment will feature expert panellists and insights/analysis from the BBC’s Sumi Somaskanda and Caitríona Perry.

The new slot will have dedicated branding.

Friday 24th January

11.40am BBC One Scotland taking network junctions this morning

BBC One Scotland has taken network continuity for the last two junctions this morning: 10.45am and 11.30am.

It’s unclear if this is a weather-related issue.

UPDATE: as of 12.15pm, BBC One Scotland is providing it own junctions again.

7.10pm Nuacht RTÉ bulletin fails to air on RTÉ One due to weather

As a result of connectivity outages this afternoon in the Conamara area of Co Galway, caused by the severe weather conditions, this evening’s Nuacht RTÉ bulletin on RTÉ One could not be broadcast from Baile na hAbhann.

The early evening news on TG 4 went out as normal at 7pm.

Saturday 25th January

2pm 2RN confirms transmitters affected by Storm Éowyn

2RN – the company responsible for the distribution and transmission of TV/radio services in Ireland – has confirmed a list of 14 transmitter sites affected by Storm Éowyn:

  • Monaghan Co. Monaghan
  • Moydrum Co. Westmeath
  • Kilkeaveragh Co. Kerry
  • Cnoc An Oir Co. Kerry
  • Crosshaven Co. Cork
  • Glenties Co. Donegal
  • Magheroarty Co Donegal
  • Clonmany Co. Donegal
  • Letterkenny Co. Donegal
  • Glencolmcille Co. Donegal
  • Casla Co. Galway
  • Tonabroky Co. Galway
  • Lehinch Co. Clare
  • Forth Mountain Co. Wexford

Saorview and FM radio services are affected at each site.
