Technical issue disrupts start of TG 4’s Live College Football

11.30pm Combined BBC Spotlight/Points West late bulletin
A combined BBC Spotlight/Points West bulletin went out tonight at 10.35pm on BBC One.
The programme featured appropriately branded Points West & Spotlight titles and studio graphics (albeit, featuring old branding assets).
The joint programme was produced by BBC Spotlight, which is currently based in a temporary studio, whilst the set in its main studio is upgraded.
It’s unclear why BBC Points West was unable to produce its own programme tonight.
Saturday 24th August
8.50pm Technical issue disrupts start of TG 4’s Live College Football
TG 4’s Live College Football between Georgia Tech and Florida State got off to a bad start this afternoon.
The programme’s titles ran normally (potentially inserted by TG 4 Playout), but instead of an introductory link from the team at the Aviva Stadium, we then got a live rebroadcast of France 24.
A TG 4 logo was promptly put to air.
It took another few minutes – and the odd brief reappearance of France 24 and TG 4’s presenter at the Aviva – for the fault to be resolved.
TG 4 usually broadcasts a simulcast of France 24 in the early morning, so it’ll be one of the sources on the playout desk.
