Tuesday 28th May

11.20pm Updated Newsnight presentation and late-night News Channel change

Newsnight’s change of format – now to be a late-night political discussion/analysis programme – has been accompanied by some changes to the studio set/presentation. The title sequence has also been updated.

The studio lighting scheme is brighter than before though the programme’s core logo and colour palette has been retained.

Another change tonight – on the BBC News channel. During the election campaign, UK viewers will have dedicated programming between the end of Newsnight and midnight.

Martine Croxall presented the initial live segment, which included a short review of tomorrow’s front pages. We then had an edition of Newscast at 11.30pm.
