The BBC News Channel was forced out of its main studio for a time this afternoon, having been plagued with technical problems.

Presenter Matthew Amroliwala apologised for problems with the automation after a particularly messy start to the 4pm edition of Verified Live.

A short time later Matthew had temporarily decamped to the small set used for UK opt-outs.

The channel also changed gallery until the issues relating to its main Studio C operation were resolved.
