BBC Wales’ live coverage of the rugby match between the Ospreys and Cardiff from Brewery Field in Bridgend was cut short this afternoon, due to satellite problems caused by heavy rain.

Picture and audio breakup was apparent in the latter stages of the second half of the match.

The line was lost completely at 4.30pm, resulting in BBC One Wales having to resort to standard breakdown procedure for the next nine minutes or so.

Two brief attempts were made to rejoin the live coverage, before the broadcast was abandoned at 4.45pm.

The remaining fifteen minutes was filled with short versions of Blue Planet II and Nigel Slater’s Dish of the Day.

BBC Wales issued a short apology on social media: “Apologies that we weren’t able to bring you the closing few minutes due to technical issues.”
