2.45pm Smooth Radio v BBC Local Radio branding
An observation: an interesting choice of branding by Global for Smooth Radio. It’s difficult not to acknowledge the similarity with the BBC’s branding for its local radio operations across England.
4.15pm BBC News channel broadcasts outtake containing bad language
An unedited package by BBC News correspondent Caroline Gallagher was broadcast on BBC News this afternoon.
The clip shows the correspondent trying to word a piece to camera on the data breach incident relating to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
The outtake included a swear word.
Twenty minutes later, presenter Matthew Amroliwala apologised for the bad language.

3pm Member of public disrupts live segment on ITV Lunchtime News
A live piece by Anushka Asthana, ITV deputy political editor, on the ITV Lunchtime News, was interrupted by an individual who approached the camera and made crude remarks.
This type of incident always raises questions about safety on location.
This edition of the ITV Lunchtime News was dropped from ITV + 1.
NOTE: we’ve deliberately excluded the man who interrupted the broadcast from our clip, to avoid providing him with the publicity he obviously sought.

11.30pm BBC Midlands Today airs outtake in error
This evening, we had another retake making it to air on BBC TV – this time on BBC Midlands Today. No bad language this time though.
The “as live” report from Amy Cole aired during the 6.30pm edition of the programme.
Thanks to one of our readers for flagging.
Sunday 13th August
7.30pm Yorkshire edition of BBC Look North broadcast in NE/Cumbria
Viewers in the NE/Cumbria received the Yorkshire edition of BBC Look North on BBC One at 6.50pm.
The Newcastle newsroom was unable to transmit their own bulletin due to technical issues.
The Yorkshire programme included some stories from the NE/Cumbria region.
Our thanks to Matthew Donnachie for flagging.
