Tuesday 21st February
12.30pm New BBC Weather logo finally appears on TV forecasts
The new BBC Weather logo – incorporating the updated BBC blocks logo – debuted on air on the BBC News Channel this morning.
BBC Weather sits within BBC News. The latter updated its on-air branding to reflect the latest BBC logo design almost ten months ago, in April 2022.
1pm More BBC HD changes rolled out on Sky
BBC One North West HD, BBC One North East and Cumbria HD, BBC One Yorkshire HD and BBC Parliament HD have now been rolled out on the Sky platform.
BBC One Scotland is now HD only.
The original BBC One HD feed is now BBC One South East HD on satellite. So Sky viewers in Kent and East Sussex can currently see their local news on channel 101 and 115. Tomorrow, this will change to 101 only.
There will be some housekeeping in terms of service IDs when the final changes are made on the Sky EPG. BBC One South East HD will be SID 6931, which points to the same video and audio as the current BBC One HD channel.
UPDATE: BBC One South East HD is now live on Freesat, meaning every BBC channel and regional service is available in HD on Freesat.

Wednesday 22nd February
10.30am Final BBC HD upgrade changes conclude on satellite
BBC One South East HD has just been listed on Sky channel 101 in Kent and East Sussex and BBC Three HD is now on channel 115 everywhere in England.
And that brings to a conclusion the BBC HD upgrades on Freesat/Sky.
Next up: Freeview “by end of April”.

12.45pm ITVBe moves home on Freeview
ITVBe has now changed multiplexes. The new copy of the channel – broadcast on PSB2/D3&4 – is now assigned to channel 28 after a retune. The old copy is still broadcasting but will move to 792 after a retune.
And there’s another streaming channel: Amazing Discoveries on Freeview channel 284. And it’s another religious channel – not a reincarnation of that US teleshopping programme that used to run on Lifestyle and overnights on Eurosport.

9.15pm Newswatch moves to new long-term home
In recent weeks, Newswatch has been based in a small green-screen studio, and not its usual home, the larger green-screen facility, Studio A (New Broadcast House, London).
But from this evening, the programme is based in its new, longer-term home, Studio L.
Presenter Samira Ahmed mentioned the new studio arrangement at the end of this evening’s programme.

7.05pm Saturday Night Takeaway gallery output put to air in error
ITV 1 Playout in London inadvertently put the wrong source to air for a brief period this evening.
Instead of hearing the opening headlines at the start of the 5.30pm edition of the ITV News, viewers saw the gallery output from Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. The show was preparing for live transmission later in the evening at Television Centre in London.
After 20 seconds, ITV 1 crashed into the ITV News.

11.45pm BBC Northern Ireland introduces new-style endboard
BBC Northern Ireland appears to have introduced a new programme endboard template.
The new design was seen at the end of this week’s edition of Sunday Politics. Thursday’s edition of The View also appears to have made use of the new design.
The endboard incorporates the new BBC Northern Ireland logo. The stylised logo introduced in 2009 was still used on endboards for new productions until earlier this month.
