Camera issues at the start of BBC News programme

Today’s 5.30am news programme on the BBC News Channel/BBC World News got off to a bad start when the studio cameras failed to take up the correct position.

Presenter Sally Bundock had taken up her position at the catwalk to link into the lead story but it became obvious fairly quickly that none of the cameras were pointing at that part of the studio.

Immediately after the opening titles, the director remained on the studio wide shot until Sally made her way back to the main desk area.

The director cut to the presenter-only desk shot, Sally apologised for the camera issues and we quickly moved on to the lead story.

With thanks to Darren Page for alerting us to this blooper.
