A couple of relatively insignificant blips on BBC News from earlier today.
This morning, the intermittent issue with the augmented reality newsroom “hoop” reared its head again.
During the opening sequence for the 10am news programme, the AR hoop was seen hovering underneath the real hoop.
The AR version has been in use for many months now. It’s intended to cover up the real newsroom hoop, which developed a fault last year, leaving a portion of the display blank.
And during the opening link on today’s BBC News at One, the catwalk screens went blank for a few seconds. The story-specific graphics disappeared and were quickly replaced by the standard animation of the BBC News globe device.
