Viewers of BBC Northern Ireland’s Newsline had an unexpected bonus during the weather forecast at the end of the programme this evening.

For just over a minute of the weather segment, the presenter’s phone alarm was clearly audible.

At the end of the weather bulletin, presenter Cecilia Daly apologised to viewers: “If you can hear a tinkling, I’m really really sorry. It’s my alarm which has gone off. I’m so sorry.”
