Mic failure disrupts opening headlines on 9pm BBC news programme

Technical issues affected the opening of tonight’s 9pm live news programme on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News.

The presenter’s microphone remained off for the duration of the opening headline sequence.

The mic issue was sorted in time for the presenter’s link for the top story. However, for much of the opening link, the soundtrack from the channel’s countdown sequence could be heard.
