BBC news studio put to air inadvertently

BBC News presenter Shaun Ley was inadvertently put to air and seen walking off set moments after his newspaper review programme finished.

The technical glitch occurred during the opening of seconds of a sport bulletin. Presenter Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes was introducing the first story when the picture suddenly cut to wide shot of Studio C, where we saw Shaun Ley walking off the set.

Ley’s microphone was live initially but was quickly cut.

The unexpected diversion lasted a little over ten seconds before viewers were returned to the sport bulletin.
