BBC One Northern Ireland hits the News Channel on-the-hour

Posted on 27th January 2022 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 28th January 2022 Filed under PresWatch

The haphazard scheduling of the late-night handover to the BBC News Channel on BBC One doesn’t make the task of providing a clean transition to the overnight news service easy. But BBC One Northern Ireland seems to make a particular effort to try and make this often messy junction look more professional.

It’s not always possible though. Sometimes the schedulers leave the channel directors in an almost impossible situation. But where there’s a possibility of making the handover look more polished, BBC Northern Ireland will generally jump at the chance.

Last night BBC One Northern Ireland got it spot on, meeting the BBC News Channel bang on the top-of-the-hour.
