E4 suffers major playout incident

On day 6 in its disaster recovery playout site due to Saturday’s incident at the Red Bee Broadcast Centre, E4 played out the wrong edition of one of its biggest shows tonight.

Yesterday’s edition of Married at First Sight UK was broadcast in error at 9pm.

More than twenty minutes of the show went out before E4 acted. A “Programmes will continue shortly” caption was then put to air. At around 9.40pm, a replacement programme finally appeared – an edition of First Dates.

Married at First Sight UK…Afters which was due to air at 10pm was removed from the schedule.

Many viewers took to social media to complain. E4 issued an apology on Twitter:

To confirm, #MAFSUK and Afters won’t be playing tonight. We’re sorry again – we’re working to make it available on All 4 and E4 as soon as possible and we’ll update as soon as we know more.
