RTÉ TV News moves to temporary studio

RTÉ TV’s news programmes today moved to a temporary studio set-up ahead of a relaunch of the service in late-January 2019.

The BARCO screens have been replaced by large printed versions of the generic virtual newsroom backdrop.  It seems likely that all news programmes will have the same background imagery, meaning the 9pm bulletin will lose its night-time cityscape.

The sports news segment now has a large LED TV screen alongside the presenter, to compensate for the lack of BARCO display.  The videoreel features excerpts from tonight’s 8.50pm programme.
