Viewers of BBC One Scotland were unexpectedly presented with output from The One Show studio during the opening minutes of tonight’s BBC News at Six.
Seconds into the opening titles for the BBC News at Six – and after the opening network and Scottish headlines – The One Show studio was put to air.
Presenters Clara Amfo and Alex Jones were seen and heard chatting with members of the programme’s production team.
The presenters were also seen having a promotional photo taken and recording a short video for social media ahead of tonight’s live show.
The BBC News at Six was put back on air – with over two-and-a-half minutes of the programme missed.
A separate issue affected the link into tonight’s 6pm news across all BBC One nations and regions.
There seemed to be a timing discrepancy between the link into the BBC News at Six and when the programme itself started.
On Network BBC One (and English regions) we joined the BBC News at Six a few seconds late, with presenter Sophie Raworth already reading out the opening headline.
On BBC One Northern Ireland, the opening of the Six is taken off the clean feed of BBC One, which was still on the BBC blocks loop (played between programmes on the clean feed) when Northern Ireland cut to it.
We then saw just shy of 10 seconds of live output from The One Show studio, before cutting back to the BBC News at Six.
BBC One Scotland and BBC One Wales appeared to take a dirty feed of Network BBC One, and caught a few seconds of the Network BBC One ident.
