ITV has missed its originally published timescale for launching regional versions of ITV 1 for the Border Scotland and Channel Islands in HD.
Test transmissions for all services have begun on satellite, but the broadcaster had originally planned for the services to become available to Freesat and Sky viewers in the respective regions in November.
ITV 1 Border Scotland HD and ITV 1 Channel Islands HD are expected to launch on both platforms in the coming days, with SD versions of the channels still due to be closed in early 2024.
Once all ITV 1 HD regions are live, it will mean ITV 1 HD is universally available on channel 103 on all platforms within its broadcast area.
It should be noted that on Freeview, the new ITV 1 HD regions are not available.
As before viewers in some areas will continue to see the wrong regional news service for their area until ITV complete full rollout on the platform. Affected viewers still need to switch to channel 3 (SD) to receive their correct regional news service.
