Some ITV 1 regions experienced a technical breakdown at the start of the 7.15pm Rugby World Cup coverage.
The breakdown seems to have been restricted to viewers served by ITV’s Southern Transmission Centre.
In these ITV 1 regions, instead of the start of the programme, there was 30 seconds of black and silence, followed by some test cards, and then over a minute of a static ITV 1 logo and silence.
The STC regions then crashed into the programme.
It looks as though the Northern Transmission Centre regions experienced only a brief period of black and silence at the start.
The presenter apologised to viewers a few minutes into the programme.
