The opening minutes of tonight’s edition of BBC London were blacked out by a playout issue.

Presenter Luxmy Gopal welcomed viewers to the programme and the opening titles began. Seconds later, the programme was interrupted by a trail for the Women’s Super League.

The trail played out in full but its endboard remained on screen for a little under a minute. The BBC News Channel’s simulcast of Newsnight then appeared.

After a further 25 seconds, we were finally returned to BBC London, mid-package.
