Today’s edition of the ITV Lunchtime News had to be taken off the air after power supply problems started to affect the programme’s production gallery.

Twitter user @itvnewsinsider commented: “Fingers pointing at electrical work going on in adjoining studio.”

The regional news update for London at 1.55pm – produced from the same facilities as the national programme – was replaced by a bulletin from ITV News Meridian.
