Saorview – Ireland’s digital terrestrial TV network provider – has announced that Sky News will be added to the platform from 30th November.

Sky News will be available free-to-air on Saorview channel 23. It’s thought the channel will be available in standard definition only.

Test transmissions have already begun. The 2RN test card is being broadcast on a new channel – labelled ‘Sky News’. There’s currently no audio with the test card.

2RN is the trading name of RTÉ Transmission Network – a wholly owned subsidiary of RTÉ.
