Milkshake! technical glitch causes parents to vent on social media

Posted on 29th September 2021 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 5th October 2021 Filed under Bloopers

A number of UK broadcasters continue to experience complications with their respective channel playout operations as a result of Saturday’s incident at the Red Bee Broadcast Centre.

Although Channel 5’s TV services are currently operating from a disaster recover (DR) facility, the vast majority of their output has been broadcast normally.

However, things took a nasty turn this morning when a credit squeeze couldn’t be undone during the early morning Milkshake! slot for children, leaving subsequent programmes being broadcast in a small window on the left of the screen.

Many irate parents took to social media this morning to complain.

@milkshaketv @channel5_tv really pushing the new #milkshake magazine this morning. Been taking most up most of the screen for at least 15min. pic.twitter.com/PQrtBMTJT1

An apology was posted on the Milkshake! Instagram account (thanks to @Cookie’s Classics for flagging):
