Special titles for pan-regional BBC Yorkshire news programme

Posted on 27th October 2020 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 24th March 2021 Filed under PresWatch

The lunchtime edition of BBC Look North in the BBC Yorkshire region was also broadcast to viewers in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Special titles were used for the pan-regional bulletin. The visuals included shots of Hull, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield. Curiously, the animating place names were sometimes replaced with the text “NORTH TODAY” – though the titles endboard still carried the usual programme title, Look North.

The Hull Daily Mail is reporting the programme cancellation was due to an outbreak of Coronavirus at the BBC’s Hull studios.

The 6.30pm edition of the Hull-based programme is expected to go ahead.
