Tonight’s edition of the RTÉ News: Nine o’Clock on RTÉ One suffered a minute-and-a-half of picture/audio freeze.

The fault occurred shortly after the programme returned from the midway commercial break causing viewers to miss out on most of a package covering the disruption caused by Storm Ashley.

Presenter Sharon Ní Bheoláin apologised for the fault at the start of the next link.

It’s unclear if the fault originated in the Studio 3 gallery or RTÉ One playout/transmission.
