Tonight’s live coverage of the Scottish Championship match between Falkirk and Queen’s Park fell off the air in the final minutes.

Vision and audio remained frozen for around 30 seconds before the BBC Scotland channel invoked its breakdown procedure.

The standard breakdown slide and birdsong remained in place for about five-and-a-half minutes, with regular verbal apologies from the announcer.

The programme then resumed with some post-match analysis, live from the Falkirk Stadium.

The root cause is believed to have been the failure of a generator that had been powering outside broadcast equipment at the site.
