A technical issue caused BBC One’s lunchtime Weather for the Week Ahead to be abandoned.
Problems were apparent from the start of the broadcast, with vision/audio dropping out.
Things settled for about a minute or so before the glitching returned.
Seconds later, BBC One Presentation intervened, putting up a breakdown slide. The announcer apologised and pointed viewers to the BBC website, for a full weather update.
BBC One Wales took the network breakdown sequence before running the next junction normally.
BBC One Northern Ireland broadcast the initial seconds of the network breakdown before cutting back to the weather programme – which continued to experience intermittent glitching, though less serious than before.
The bulletin was cut off seconds before it was due to end. And after a few seconds of the clean feed filler animation, BBC One Northern Ireland moved on to the next junction, with an apology from the announcer over the ident into Songs of Praise.
BBC One Scotland invoked its own breakdown procedure, with a locally generated breakdown slide and verbal apology, before moving on to the next junction. During the ident link into Songs of Praise, the announcer apologised for the issues with the weather
