The Andrew Marr Show moves to new studio

Posted on 10th October 2021 by The Clean Feed Team Last updated on 10th October 2021 Filed under PresWatch

Andrew Marr’s Sunday morning BBC One show has taken up residence in Studio 54D at New Broadcasting House as of today.

The programme was displaced from BBC News’ largest TV studio, Studio B, when the Covid pandemic set in and has been sharing Studio E with the BBC News Channel since then.

Studio 54D is also used by BBC Two’s Newsnight.

Studio B has largely been mothballed since the start of the Covid crisis. It takes more people to staff its gallery and studio and it’s believed to have become a casualty of budget cuts.

However, Studio B is reportedly being re-equipped with robotic cameras to help reduce costs. It’s also being suggested that BBC One’s main news programmes will be based there from the spring.

BBC News is due to unveil a large-scale relaunch of its branding in spring 2022.
